Welcome
Sigma Alpha Epsilon was founded at the University of Alabama on March 9th, 1856 by 8 men looking to establish a brotherhood of character, honor, & friendship. Since that day in March, SAE has grown into the largest national Greek letter Organization, and stands as the only surviving fraternity whose founding predates the civil war. It currently boasts over 272,000 initiated men from 278 chapters located in every state and Canada.

The Florida Upsilon Chapter of Sigma Alpha Epsilon was established on February 11th, 1884 and was the first fraternity at the University of Florida. The original chapter house was located on the corner of University Avenue and 13th street, until the Fraternity moved to its current location at 2 Fraternity Row.  Florida Upsilon currently boasts the largest number of chapter initiates of all chapters in the realm of SAE.
